At BIZphit, we occasionally come across a contractor who can precisely describe their experience and understanding of the tendering process, we aim to achieve this understanding with all clients because its this kind of understanding that can mean the difference between a win or not, contractors can and do win contracts.

Often, we can see that a contractor is actually thinking more broadly about the tender process, and more importantly the fact that to win you need to invest some time and effort into the process.

The Government are committed to awarding public sector contracts to small businesses and have even had to raise their original goal which was at 25% to a 33% target for all spending to go to small firms. This equates to approximately £3 billion of potential income going to small businesses by 2020.

Part of the reason for this focus on providing more opportunity is to ensure that the taxpayer gets more value for money with greater benefits. It’s made possible by adjusting the pre-qualification questionnaires so that they are no longer part of the process for contracts that are considered to be low-value. They have also simplified the bidding process and have changed their publicity of tenders so that they can be found in one place. We’ve found that the larger contracts have been divided into jobs that are smaller.

If you want a piece of the action, here are some tips:
